Howden acquires Irish broker Curran Connolly & Company

Howden, the global insurance intermediary group, has announced the acquisition of Curran Connolly & Company (Drogheda) Ltd, a commercial and personal lines insurance broker based in County Louth, Ireland.

With this acquisition, Howden builds its position in the North-East and the wider Irish insurance market. It follows the broker’s recent acquisition of Intersure, a brokerage firm also located in Drogheda.

Curran Connolly & Company was founded in 1980 and it is led by directors Joe Murphy and Noel McGoldrick.

A member of Brokers Ireland, a trade body for insurance brokers in the country, the company provides a range of insurance products and services to both individual and commercial clients and specialises in the transport and haulage sector, and also serves the manufacturing, hospitality, and construction industries nationwide.

Robert Kennedy, CEO of Howden Ireland has extended its welcome to Murphy and McGoldrick as well as the entire team at Curran Connolly.
