International insurance broker, Howden, has announced that it has acquired Media Insurance Brokers International Limited, a major independent UK and Irish film and television broker.
This acquisition significantly enhances Howden’s media and entertainment offering while reflecting the company’s strategy to be the preeminent choice for Sports & Entertainment clients.
MIB has been operating since 1990 and offers specialist insurance products to film, television, music and events sectors. It has strong relationships with many leading broadcasters and media buying companies, as well as with independent production companies.

The MIB partnership offers Howden’s Sport and Entertainment practice a significant boost in Europe, following the recent acquisitions of Franz Gossler Insurance Group, another leading film and entertainment insurance broker in Germany and Assimovie, Italy’s leading television and film broking house.
The acquisition of Wallace McLean done in July 2022, a broker with specialisms in film and television in New Zealand, further extends Howden’s expertise into the Pacific region.
