Banking and insurance lawyer Lee Hitge has been appointed Executive Director of Howden CAP, a London-based role.
Part of Howden Broking, the division provides a blend of insurance and investment solutions to help manage complex risks and optimise capital for clients in the private equity, banking and asset management sectors.
Hitge will join Howden CAP’s growing team of qualified solicitors to advise on the ever evolving legal and regulatory frameworks applying to clients’ businesses.
In her new role, she will assist in the development of sophisticated capital management and insurance solutions, including solutions around the distribution of insured loan assets via repacks and portfolio risk transfer.
An admitted attorney in South Africa and a solicitor of the courts of England and Wales, Hitge joins Howden CAP from the Financial Solutions Structuring team at WTW, where she held the position of Executive Director for the last four years.
Prior to WTW, she worked as a Senior Transactional Support Lawyer in investment banking, most notably for eight years at The Standard Bank of South Africa.

According to Howden CAP, Hitge’s significant knowledge and experience in both investment banking and credit insurance will bring great benefit to the teams within the division.
Her technical skills in structuring, negotiating and documenting credit risk insurance in the context of complex structured finance transactions will be crucial as Howden CAP looks to expand and evolve in this area.
