Howden, the insurance intermediary group offering broking, reinsurance and underwriting services, has announced the formation of a dedicated US Cyber practice, highlighting continued investment in specialist talent to support corporate clients.

The new practice is built around a senior leadership team comprising Juliet White, Head of Cyber; Lou Botticell, Cyber Brokerage Leader; Jessica Daehler, Cyber Growth & Strategy Leader; Suzane Gladle, Cyber Client Engagement & Service Leader; David Hau, Cyber Private Equity & M&A Solutions Leader; and Natalia Santiago, Head of Cyber Claims.

Collectively, the appointments bring an average of more than two decades of industry experience each. The team combines strong underwriting and broking expertise, enabling them to deliver informed, practical guidance and a differentiated approach to managing cyber risk.

Now part of Howden’s US business, the group provides cyber insurance capability, spanning strategic advisory, placement, client servicing, product innovation, claims support and cyber risk consultancy.

The launch further enhances Howden’s global cyber proposition, adding to its  international network and taking the firm’s cyber specialists to more than 150 professionals operating across five continents.

Ron Borys, Head of Financial Lines, Howden US, commented: “Our own data shows that cyber protection more than pays for itself, generating a 19% return on investment, making the value proposition of cyber insurance clear: For corporates, as well as providing a financial safety net, cyber insurance also acts as an enabler of improved cyber hygiene, incident response and operational resilience.

“In what is still a relatively young product line, and with companies facing a fluid threat landscape dominated by a series of high severity ransomware attacks, assembling a truly formidable team empowered to make the best decisions is a crucial differentiator for clients. I am very proud that Juliet, Lou, Jessica, Suzane, David and Natalia have chosen to join Howden – their incredible knowledge and expertise in the Cyber sector will take our global capability to the next level and enhance the service and advice we can offer.”

Mike Parrish, CEO, Howden US, said: “Ron is building the sector’s US Cyber A-team. With a unique combination of senior underwriters and experienced brokers, clients get both sides: market intelligence and the best outcomes. Most importantly, the team is empowered to innovate and make decisions at the client level, not corporate. The value of that agility can’t be overestimated in a space where client needs and pressures are constantly changing.”

Shay Simkin, Chair, Cyber, Howden, added: “These hires reflect Howden’s strategy to invest and grow its cyber expertise globally, as we continue to deliver products and services, thought leadership and innovation for our 10,000 clients around the world. That our US cyber footprint has been established so quickly, and with the leading talent in the industry, is testament that our strategy is working, enabling us to address clients’ most complex cyber insurance risks.”
