Howden, the global insurance group, has strengthened its presence in Norway with the acquisition of Arctic Insurance AS, a fast-growing Norwegian insurance broker.
The move is part of Howden’s strategy to enhance its footprint in the Nordic region by investing in local expertise and delivering global capabilities to clients in regional markets.
Arctic Insurance, based in Oslo and established in 2014 with the support of Arctic Group, specialises in Property & Casualty, Financial Lines & Specialty, Employee Benefits, and Pensions.
It serves diverse clients, including those in the food and beverage, recycling and waste management, transport, and finance sectors.
Anders Kvan, CEO of Howden Norway, sees the acquisition as a significant step in their ambitious growth strategy for Norway, bringing them closer to becoming the leading independent broker in the country.
The addition of Arctic Insurance’s specialised expertise aligns with Howden’s international scale, reinforcing their position as one of Norway’s leading brokers capable of handling complex risks.

With this acquisition, Howden Norway now boasts 65 employees in two offices, reinforcing Howden’s presence in the Nordics.
The company has been expanding in Europe, recently entering the Danish market with the acquisition of NORTH Risk and purchasing VLC & Partners Holding B.V. in the Netherlands.
