Howden names Shunsuke Takechi as Head of M&A for Japan

Global insurance and reinsurance broker Howden has announced the appointment of Shunsuke Takechi, a highly experienced and qualified Japanese attorney with over 13 years of experience, as Head of Japan, M&A.

Takechi holds the unique distinction of being the first and only registered senior Japanese lawyer in the insurance brokerage industry.

His expertise spans various M&A risk solutions including Warranty & Indemnity Insurance, Tax Contingent, and Litigation Risk Insurances.

Takechi has a proven track record of successfully connecting Japanese clients with global insurers and managing cross-border deal teams.

The executive’s deep local market knowledge and strong connections, will be a key asset in further strengthening Howden’s M&A capabilities in Japan.

Takechi is joining Howden from rival broker Aon, where he most recently served as Senior Deputy Director based in the company’s Tokyo office.

He started his tenure at Aon as Associate Director following five years as Market Development Manager at global insurer AIG. He also spent five years at law firm ALG & Associates, where he held a number of roles.
