Asset manager Hudson Structured Capital Management (HSCM) has promoted Rachel Bardon to deputy CIO and Gokul Sudarsana to chief actuary.

The firm said in a statement that the promotions were effective from the beginning of September. Sudarsana’s appointment is pending immigration approval.

Michael Millette, managing partner and co-founder of the firm, said: “Rachel’s and Gokul’s leadership in developing our broader insurance business has been critical. We and our investors look forward to their work in these expanded roles.”

Bardon joined the firm in 2016 when, according to her LinkedIn profile, she was originally a managing director. In 2019, she was promoted to partner and chief actuary with a focus on developing HSCM Bermuda’s insurance credit origination and deployment. As deputy CIO, she will work with Millette to lead, develop, and enhance the firm’s re/insurance strategy. She will also continue to lead the Strategy’s reinsurance debt investing and offshore investment activity.

She said in a statement: “High quality insurance-related debt continues to hold attractive risk premium due to the complexity of the investment. I am thrilled to be spearheading our continued growth in this sector. As this strategy grows, I am looking forward to continued work enhancing our investment processes and practices as Deputy CIO of our broader re/insurance strategy.”

He said: “It has been an exciting and rewarding experience to collaborate with my HSCM colleagues over the past two years and I am looking forward to continue to support the firm’s growth in this expanded role.”
