ICW Group Insurance Companies, a leading group of property and casualty carriers, has promoted Mirek Wieczorek to Senior Vice President, Head of Reinsurance, charged with leading the growth strategy for ICW Re.

Wieczorek has more than three decades of leadership experience in the reinsurance industry, having first joined ICW Group almost four years ago to help build the Assumed Reinsurance business and establish the firm in the reinsurance marketplace.

ICW Group suggests that Wieczorek has since been instrumental in leading its exceptional and rapid growth. The firm also notes that Assumed Reinsurance now represents a significant segment of its total portfolio.

Kevin Prior, ICW Group CEO, commented, “Mirek’s leadership, industry knowledge, and expertise have been a key factor in the success of ICW Re.

“In a short period of time, he has built a high-performing line of business and established a phenomenal team of experts to drive its growth and cement ICW Group as a professional provider of capacity in the reinsurance space. I’m excited to see where he takes us next.”

“We’ve taken what was essentially a start-up and have now solidified ICW Group as a marquee Assumed Reinsurance provider.

“There’s an assertive growth strategy in place to expand creative solutions for our trading partners and take our diverse reinsurance product offerings even further, and I’m pleased to be at the helm during this exciting time.”

Before joining ICW Group, Wieczorek was executive vice president and head of underwriting at Tokio Millennium Re’s (TMR) operations in the US.
