Inigo Limited (Inigo), a specialist insurance company, has recently announced its partnership with Samsara, an Industrial Internet of Things (IoT) firm. Together, they aim to revolutionise insurance solutions for US companies with large automotive fleets.

Inigo plans to utilise Samsara’s telematics data to develop a new type of insurance product tailored specifically for the automobile industry. This product will set competitive prices based on individual driving data and prioritise safety metrics to better understand risk.

By integrating telematics data with advanced modelling and risk management techniques, Inigo hopes to choose risks more effectively and offer personalised pricing.

Samsara’s IoT gateways and AI Dash Cams are key to this partnership, as they capture real-time driving and safety data. This streamlines reporting and automates processes, promoting safer driving behaviour.

Ursula Worth, VP of Channel Sales & Strategic Partnerships at Samsara, stated, “By leveraging data from our platform to help provide more accurate risk assessments, Inigo is taking an innovative and data-driven approach to improving safety standards and encouraging safer driving behaviour among some of the biggest names in the fleet industry.”

Moreover, with efficient data analysis, potential risks can be spotted early, and trends can be addressed before they result in significant losses.

Additionally, clients will benefit from comprehensive coverage at reasonable rates, as well as assistance with hardware and installation costs.

Launched on January 1st, 2024, this new insurance solution is now available nationwide in the US. Marsh, a global insurance broker, is facilitating its distribution, with support from their International Placement Division in London.

Craig Knightley, Insurance Chief Underwriting Officer at Inigo, emphasised the importance of data science in their approach. He said, “We believe analysis of different datasets has demonstrated that a robust deployment of Samsara’s telematics and safety solutions will lead to a much better understanding of fleet performance and management, making a material impact on loss frequency and serving to make the roads safer.”
