Insurtech Counterpart names Muglia Professional Liability Insurance Lead

Counterpart, a management and professional liability insurtech backed by Markel, Aspen, and Westfield, has announced the appointment of industry veteran, Michael Muglia, as its Professional Liability Insurance Lead.

In addition, Counterpart also announced the promotion of three of its longest-standing team members as Territory Leads: Brad Bahler, Satwik Mysore and Jake O’Donnell.

With over a decade of experience across the insurance industry, specialising in professional liability solutions, Muglia is joining Counterpart from RB Jones, where he most recently served as Professional Liability Director.

Prior to that, he spent ten years at Burns & Wilcox, an independent wholesale broker and underwriting manager, where he served in a number of roles, including National Underwriting Director of Professional Liability.

Brad Bahler, who has been part of Counterpart since 2021, has been promoted to Central and Southeast Territory Lead. he joined the company as a Risk Engineer and has continuously taken on more leadership responsibilities over the last three years.

Before joining Counterpart, Bahler worked at Travelers, where he was one of the top-producing underwriters specialising in Management Liability.

Promoted to West Territory Lead, Satwik Mysore will oversee Counterpart’s wholesale distribution partners in the Western US.

He has been in the Insurance industry for over a decade and was promoted to Risk Engineer Manager after joining Counterpart as the first underwriter in 2020.

Mysore gained extensive experience underwriting private nonprofit and for-profit management liability at Travelers, where he was also one of the top-producing underwriters.

Finally, Jake O’Donnell, who has a remarkable track record of supporting private and non-profit businesses with D&O, EPL, Fiduciary, and Crime coverages, has been promoted to Territory Lead in the Northeast.

He joined Counterpart in 2022 following close to four years at Chubb/Westchester.
