Property, Commercial and Speciality re/insurer IQUW has appointed Catherine Farnworth as Group Chief Risk Officer.
Having joined PWC as a Reserving and Capital Actuary, working closely with the Risk function, Farnworth became PWCs Actuarial Lead within the Risk and Regulatory consulting practice in Bermuda.
She then moved to to MS Frontier as Group Actuary and Head of Enterprise Risk Management.
Following the merger of MS Frontier and MS Amlin, Farnworth became the Chief Risk Officer for the MS Amlin, part of the Mitsui Sumitomo group.
In her new role, Farnworth will support both the specialist motor insurer ERS and IQUW as it continues its expansion into a more diverse, multi-line insurer following the launch of new lines of business through 2021.
This is including Marine and Energy, Terror and War, Cargo and Specie, Professional Lines, Property, Cyber, Specialty Reinsurance and Property Reinsurance.
Commenting on her appointment, Farnworth said: “I am thrilled to be joining IQUW at such an exciting time. Having watched the syndicate’s recruitment drive over the last few months and recent product expansion, it is clear the team have an exciting growth plan – one that I’m looking forward to being part of.”
