Brazilian reinsurance company IRB (Re) has announced the appointment of Rodrigo Souza Lobo Botti as the new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
He will be taking over the role from Marcos Pessôa de Queiroz Falcão, who has acted as CFO since March 9, 2023. This role will be in addition to his position as Chief Executive Officer and Investor Relations Officer.
Pessôa de Queiroz Falcão will remain as Chief Executive Officer and Investor Relations Officer, as the ongoing term of office.
According to the announcement, the ongoing term of office unified with the other members of the Company’s Statutory Officers is to be concluded on July 3, 2025.
De Souza Lobo Botti brings to his new position extensive experience in the global and domestic capital markets, being engaged in projects related to reinsurance companies and investment banks in Brazil and the United States.
He served as the local office representative of Patria Re, the largest reinsurer in Mexico and one of the most active in Latin America, from 2020 to 2023. Founding Partner and Executive at Terra Brasis Reinsurance, where he worked from 2011 to 2020.
He also held prominent positions in international banks, working in New York as Director of Structured Credit at Citigroup and VP of Credit Derivatives at Deutsche Bank.
