Legacy acquirer DARAG has announced the appointment of James Halley as Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective September 3rd, 2018.
Halley replaces Mike Trotman, whose role was to deliver a recently completed €260 million capital raise with Aleph Capital Partners and Crestview Partners, and follows the appointment of Tom Booth as CEO.
He brings 30 years of industry experience to the role, and most recently served as Finance Director of AEGIS London. Halley has held numerous finance roles across a variety of industries, which includes insurance companies.
Between 1998 and 2000, Halley served as Group Finance Director for AXA Ireland, and he was an insurance and finance services partner at Arthur Andersen between 1988 and 1998.
Halley, whose appointment remains subject to regulatory approval, commented: “DARAG’s development over the past year has been impressive, and the scale and scope provided by the recent capital raise will secure DARAG’s position as a leading legacy provider. I am excited to work with the team to achieve our ambitious goals.”
Booth, added: “DARAG has set on a path of global growth, building on our strong continental European roots and setting our sights on expanding in the US and beyond. The recent capital raise has added significant scale to our business, and we are determined to deliver exceptional value to all our stakeholders and counterparties. I would like to thank Mike for his exceptional work helping secure the recent equity investment.
“James’ arrival is a milestone for us, and his expertise in the insurance market will prove invaluable as we continue to develop DARAG into the leading, global firm it is now well-placed to be.”
