James River Group Holdings, Inc., a US specialty insurer focused on excess and surplus lines and reinsurance solutions, has announced that Kelly Hadiaris has returned to the firm as Senior Vice President, Underwriting – Excess Casualty.
She will lead the Excess Casualty division within the company’s Excess and Surplus (E&S) segment and will report to Todd Sutherland, President of the E&S segment.
Hadiaris brings more than 20 years of experience in the E&S insurance sector, with a strong background in technical underwriting, portfolio leadership and underwriting operations.
Over the course of her career, she has held senior underwriting roles at organisations including Markel, W. R. Berkley Corporation and Allianz. In those positions, she was responsible for overseeing complex casualty portfolios and leading underwriting teams.
In her new role at James River, Hadiaris will be responsible for setting the strategic direction of the Excess Casualty division, while overseeing underwriting results and supporting disciplined, profitable expansion.
She previously worked at James River, where she contributed to the early development of the company’s excess and general casualty portfolios. Her return brings both extensive industry experience and familiarity with the company’s underwriting philosophy and culture.
Todd Sutherland, President of E&S, said: “Kelly’s breadth of experience, strong relationships, and deep technical knowledge of the excess casualty market position her well to lead this important business. We are excited to have her on the team as we continue to invest in and grow our E&S platform.”
