Global reinsurer Munich Re has announced the promotion of James Sanzone to Vice President, Head of Marine Cargo at Munich Re Specialty – North America (MRS-NA).
In his new role, Sanzone will continue to lead the development of MRS-NA’s marine cargo offering and the expansion strategy of the team’s admitted capabilities for its Ocean Marine product line.
The executive has been part of Munich Re for five years, having joined the company in 2021 as an Associate Underwriter.
He was later appointed Marine Cargo Underwriter, a role he held for two years before becoming Assistant Vice President, Ocean Marine, his most recent position.
Sanzone’s promotion is one of Munich Re’s most recent moves. In early April the reinsurer announced the appointment of Andreas Moser as Global Head of Credit, Surety and Political Risk Reinsurance.
Moser started at the company in 2004 and joined the Financial Risks division in 2021. He has been credited with helping to develop new digital business models during his time there.
