Jamie Chambers named AXA XL CEO of Greater China

AXA XL, the property and casualty (P&C) and specialty risk division of global insurer AXA, has announced the appointment of Jamie Chambers as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Greater China, effective June 20, 2025.

AXA XL logoIn this expanded role, Chambers will continue to lead the company’s Hong Kong business while also taking on broader leadership responsibilities across Mainland China, Macau, and Taiwan.

The executive has been with the company for close to seven years, having joined as CEO AXA XL Hong Kong & Commercial Director GI AXA Hong Kong.

He also served at XL Catlin, prior to becoming part of AXA XL, as Regional Product Leader Aerospace, Asia Pacific, and Country Manager & Regional Product Leader, Aerospace.

“Jamie’s appointment reflects our commitment to unified leadership and stronger alignment across Greater China, enabling us to operate more seamlessly across markets and deliver consistent value to clients and partners throughout the region,” AXA XL commented.

This transition follows the planned retirement of Dr. HaoMing Zhou, who has had a 30-year career in the Asia Pacific and the Middle East insurance market.

“We are grateful for HaoMing’s leadership and the solid foundation he has built for the future. We wish him all the very best in his next chapter,” an AXA XL spokesperson stated.
