Jamie Cook named Chief Partnership Officer of QBE Re

QBE Re, the reinsurance division of QBE, has announced that it has appointed Jamie Cook as Chief Partnership Officer.

qbe-re-logoIn his new role, Cook will lead a team that is responsible for building more effective customer and broker relationships, as well as managing strategic partnerships with retrocessionaries and other capital providers.

Based in London, Cook will report to Chris Killourhy, Managing Director, QBE Re. Overall, he brings over three decades of industry experience towards his new role.

Cook joined QBE Re two years ago, when he was appointed as Global Head of Client Management.

He joined QBE after a three-year stint at Guy Carpenter, where he served as a Managing Director. Before that, he served as Director, Divisional Broker Representative, EMEA at reinsurance giant Swiss Re.

Prior to Swiss Re, Cook also spent one year working as a Client Manager at Munich Re.

Before joining Munich Re, Cook also spent a further 10 years of service at Guy Carpenter working in Managing Director positions within both Property and Broking.

From 1993 to 2004, Cook held numerous positions at reinsurance broker Willis Re, including as a reinsurance broker, an associate director of broking, and as an executive director.

Addressing Cook’s appointment, Killourhy, said: “I am delighted that Jamie has accepted this position. Jamie and his team will empower QBE Re with best-in-class customer, broker and market insights and lead initiatives to further enhance our relationships with our brokers and customers to deliver a sustainable future.”
