UK broker and underwriter Jensten has bolstered its London and South East presence through its acquisition of Chris Knott Insurance Consultants, a broker that specialises in both personal and commercial lines.

Subject to regulatory approval, the deal will reportedly introduce a dedicated team of 19 professionals, as well as an office located in Hastings, and an additional £6.1 million gross written premium (GWP) to the business.

Moreover, Chris Knott Insurance Consultants is renowned for its niche motor scheme, focusing on classic cars and owners club vehicles.

The organisation is also widely experienced in supporting clients with tailored solutions for small charities, allotments, canine-related activities, and photographers.

From what we understand, upon integration with Jensten, the schemes-based niche personal lines business will report into Karl Scott, Managing Director for Personal Lines at Jensten.

At the same time, the commercial lines business will go into the London and South East region, under Regional Managing Director, David Skinner.

Rob Organ, Retail Managing Director at Jensten, commented: “The acquisition of Chris Knott Insurance Consultants represents a significant step forward in our strategic efforts to strengthen our presence in the London and South East region. This acquisition not only enhances the scale and reach of our commercial lines division but, by integrating Chris Knott’s expertise in classic cars and owners club vehicles, also enriches our portfolio with new unique scheme and niche personal lines capabilities. We look forward to welcoming the Chris Knott Insurance Consultants team to the Jensten family.”

Neil Franklin, Managing Director of Chris Knott Insurance Consultants, said: “At Chris Knott, our commitment has always been to deliver the very best for our clients. We know that this dedication is shared by Jensten, making them the obvious choice for us to partner with. Joining Jensten will enable us to leverage the resources and reach the business has built, allowing us to provide an even better service to our clients. We look forward to what the future has in store for our clients and colleagues with the support of the team at Jensten.”

Earlier this month, Jensten completed its acquisitions of Melville Burbage and Henry Seymour & Co, with the latter initially announced in April.
