JLT Speciality appoints Gavin Shiels to Senior Vice President

Jardine Lloyd Thompson Group’s U.S. subsidiary, JLT Specialty, has announced the appointment of Gavin Shiels to Senior Vice President.

Shiels most recently served as Senior Vice President for Aon, where his primary responsibilities included managing consulting and brokerage services in Real Estate, Technology, Financial Institution, and Food & Beverage industries segments.

He has additional Aon experience in overseeing design, negotiation, and implementation of complex commercial property insurance placements for clients in the Bay Area and throughout the West Coast.

Michael Rice, Chief Executive Officer at JLT Specialty USA, said; “We could not be more delighted to officially welcome Gavin to the JLT Specialty USA team.

“Gavin’s experience in the insurance industry will prove to be invaluable to our team and our clients on the West Coast.”

In his new San Francisco-based role, Shiel will head up JLT Real Estate Practice client development and offer insights on insurance market and specialized solutions, leveraging his over one decade-long industry experience.
