Mapfre, an international insurance company, has announced the appointment of Jorge Colomer as Chief Executive Officer of Mapfre Asset Management (Mapfre AM).

Mapfre logoMapfre AM is the asset management arm of Mapfre Group and has more than 30 years of experience managing investments. Headquartered in Spain, Mapfre AM manages over €40 billion in assets across Europe.

Colomer succeeds Álvaro Anguita, who has led the firm since its founding more than 30 years ago. Under his leadership, the firm initially focused on managing the Group’s balance sheet and, in recent years, has also delivered top-tier products to both retail and institutional customers.

Mapfre said that, through this appointment, it is reaffirming its commitment to building a robust and distinctive presence in the financial sector, fostering innovation in investment products, promoting sustainability and delivering increasingly customer-focused services.

Juan Bernal, Group Chief Investment Officer at Mapfre, said, “Bringing Jorge Colomer on board will significantly strengthen our position in the asset management industry.”
