Joyn Insurance welcomes Jim Hackbarth as its first independent Director

InsurTech firm, Joyn Insurance has announced that insurance industry executive Jim Hackbarth will be joining its Board as its first independent Director.

An experienced veteran within the industry, Hackbarth was most recently President and CEO of Assurex Global – the world’s largest privately held risk management commercial insurance brokerage group.

Joyn CEO Seraina Macia, commented: “We are honored that Jim Hackbarth has agreed to join our Board of Directors. Jim brings an extensive history in the insurance industry and his expertise will be a major asset as Joyn positions itself for a strong growth phase.

“His longstanding relationships with carriers, reinsurers, and brokers will also be instrumental in our future as a company and his deep knowledge of every corner of the insurance industry will be an invaluable resource for our board.”

Earlier this year, Joyn exceeded its target with a $17.7 million Series A funding round. The round was led by OMERS Ventures, with participation from SiriusPoint, ManchesterStory, Cohen Circle, Avanta Ventures and several other private investors.
