KatRisk appoints Petros Keshishian and John Tewhill to key roles

KatRisk recently announced two key appointments: Petros Keshishian as the new Head of Model Engineering and John Tewhill as Enterprise Account Executive.

Founded in 2012, KatRisk specialises in catastrophe modelling for various perils, including inland flooding, tropical cyclone wind, storm surge, severe convective storm, and wildfire. Utilising advanced GPU computing technology, the company provides high-resolution, cost-effective risk quantification. Their mission is to help insurers, governments, and financial institutions anticipate, mitigate, and adapt to the growing frequency and intensity of natural disasters.

Petros Keshishian brings over 25 years of experience in catastrophe modelling to his new role. He joins KatRisk from Global Atlantic Financial Group, where he served as Vice President of Data Science, Insurance Risk for three years.

Prior to that role, he held senior positions at firms such as AESA, RMS, IMEA Systems, AIR Worldwide, and The World Bank. Keshishian’s expertise includes leading teams of actuaries, scientists, and software engineers in developing predictive models from inception to product delivery.

In a recent LinkedIn post, KatRisk expressed enthusiasm for Keshishian’s appointment, noting, “His expertise will be invaluable in delivering enhanced value to our clients through refined risk assessment tools and solutions.”

John Tewhill comes to KatRisk from EPIC Insurance Brokers & Consultants, where he served as Private Client Advisor. His previous roles include Account Executive (P&C Lead) at Verikai, Account Executive at Celential.ai, and Casualty Underwriter at AIG.
