Karen Clark & Company (KCC), a provider of catastrophe risk modelling solutions, has appointed industry veteran Deanne Nixon as a Senior Vice President (SVP) in its senior leadership team, based in Jacksonville, Florida.
In her new role, Nixon will be working directly with insurers and reinsurers to ensure KCC’s advanced modeling technology and applications continue to deliver high value as the market needs evolve.
Nixon started her reinsurance career as an underwriter for CNA Re in Chicago and moved to Bermuda in 2006 with new venture White Mountains Re (Sirius International), where she rose to Senior Vice President and then President of Sirius Capital Markets.
After this, she was the Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) and then Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a Florida insurer.
Most recently, Nixon has provided strategic consulting and advisory services to leading firms, including Cincinnati Re and Arbol.
Karen Clark, CEO, KCC, commented on the appointment, “We’re delighted Deanne has joined our growing team. As a former CEO of a primary insurer and President of a global ILS reinsurance fund, she brings a unique and valuable perspective that will enable KCC to more deeply engage with (re)insurers on holistic growth and risk management strategies.”
She added, “Along with her impressive background and experience, Deanne is an industry leader who I’ve known and admired for many years. I couldn’t be happier with her decision to join the KCC team.”
Nixon stated, “I’m excited by the opportunity with KCC. It’s clear the company has brought to market innovative and advanced technology, but KCC is more than a modeling company as demonstrated by the close relationships with insurer and reinsurer clients. I’m looking forward to expanding and deepening those relationships.”
She continued, “As data sources and information expand in a world with AI, KCC is integrating this evolving knowledge into efficient processes and successful strategies for (re)insurers.
“It’s not often you get the opportunity to work with a recognized industry leader and innovator, and I’m looking forward to building the future with Karen and the KCC team.”
