Africa Specialty Risks (ASR), the developing-markets-focused re/insurance group, has announced the appointment of Kieran Wilson as Senior Energy Underwriter.
In his new position, based in London, Wilson will focus on expanding and underwriting ASR’s energy portfolio, collaborating closely with brokers to develop the group’s oil, gas, and broader energy operations throughout Africa and other emerging markets.
Wilson will be reporting to Suzan Pardesi, the Head of Energy and Deputy Active Underwriter for Syndicate 2454, who commented: “Kieran is an experienced underwriter with strong technical energy underwriting expertise and solid broker relationships.
“As we continue to grow our energy portfolio across Africa and the Middle East, his experience supporting complex oil and gas projects will be instrumental in delivering solutions for our clients and partners.“
Wilson brings extensive experience across Lloyd’s, company and MGA markets, specialising in downstream energy with additional expertise spanning upstream, midstream and power.
He is joining ASR from Helyx Group, where he most recently served as the company’s Head of Energy. His career also includes roles at Barents Re, Chubb, Mapfre Global Risks, and ArgoGlobal.
