Global insurance and reinsurance broker, Aon, has named veteran Aon leader, Lambros Lambrou as Global Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of its Commercial Risk Solutions division.
According to the broker, this appointment is another significant step to realise the full potential of its Aon United growth strategy.
Lambrou replaces Mike O’Connor as CEO of Commercial Risk Solutions, who was appointed Co-President of Aon in 2018. Lambrou has worked in the risk management sector for more than 30 years with Aon, and during this time has served across nearly all of the company’s solution lines and geographies.
O’Connor, commented: “Lambros is a widely respected and collaborative leader with broad industry experience spanning risk management, broking and specialty strategy. He is committed to innovating on behalf of our clients and leveraging data and analytics to help them more efficiently match risk with capital.”
His recent positions within Commercial Risk Solutions includes serving as CEO of Australia, CEO of the Global Broking Centre in London, Chief Broking Officer (CBO) in EMEA, and also Global Chief Operating Officer (COO) for Aon Broking and Head of Carrier Management for Aon.
Lambrou most recently served as Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and CEO of Global Specialties for Commercial Risk Solutions, and Aon notes that he is to maintain those responsibilities, and will remain in the firm’s New York office.
