Speciality MGA Lions Gate Underwriting (LGU) has announced the launch of a new Environmental Insurance solution within its offering that will be underwritten by Great American Insurance Group.
The insurer backs a number of Lions Gate’s solutions, and the new program offering will be managed by Rod Spurrell, Managing Director, Toronto Branch at LGU. Prior to joining the LGU team in Toronto, Spurrell, previously led the Environmental Program at a large Canadian insurer.
With this new program, which will focus on Contracting Services and resulting pollution conditions, LGU is set to expand its Canadian offering. The wording of the new Environmental Insurance solution includes Errors and Omissions arising from associated Professional Services, which traditionally required a separate policy.
According to LGU, coverage can be offered on either an Occurrence of Claims Made basis, and will be available for Premises and Operations across Canada and the U.S.

LGU was established in 2015 by BMS Canada Risk Services, which is the Canadian subsidiary of independent insurance and reinsurance broker, BMS Group.
