Liberty Mutual Insurance Group’s newly unified Singapore business, Liberty, has appointed Jimmy Tong as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), effective 27 April 2026.
Liberty previously operated in Singapore through Liberty Insurance and Liberty Specialty Markets, which were combined under a single insurance licence on 1 January 2026, with Liberty Insurance transferring its general insurance portfolio to Liberty Specialty Markets.
The unified entity offers a broad range of personal, SME and corporate insurance products, including property, liability, motor, medical and specialty lines.
Based in Singapore, Tong will report to Matthew Jackson, President of Asia Pacific, who commented, “In Asia Pacific, our goal this year is to operate as one Liberty in each market – creating a simpler, stronger organisation for our customers and partners.
“The completion of the Singapore company transfer, together with securing Jimmy to lead the business, represents a strong start to the year.”
Tong is reportedly a seasoned Singapore-based executive, having spent the past decade leading and overseeing Great Eastern’s General and Group Insurance operations in Singapore, following 15 years in senior leadership roles at UOB.
Following Liberty’s Singapore company unification, former chief executive of Liberty Insurance, Yasar Fistikci, has taken the new role of Chief Product Officer, Singapore.
Meanwhile, Nicole Lim, the current Chief Executive Officer of Liberty Specialty Markets, has elected to explore opportunities outside Liberty and will depart the business at the end of April.
