Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), a division of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has announced plans to establish a new specialist renewable energy team as it looks to expand its onshore energy capabilities.
The new team will offer insurance solutions tailored to meet the demands of brokers and clients, and will be based in London. Tom Clifton, Senior Underwriter, Power and Renewables, will lead the new team, with support from Jose Ruiz-Poveda, Energy Manager, based in Madrid.
Business for the new team will be underwritten from the company’s London office, and regional bases in Paris, Madrid, and Dubai.
LSM Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), Specialty, Mike Gosselin, commented; “The renewable energy sector is increasingly a mainstream source of energy, and is growing rapidly. As the energy landscape changes, so too have the demands of our clients. By leveraging our existing industry knowledge and technical expertise in onshore renewable energy, we can offer an integrated service that includes risk engineering capabilities.
“This service will allow us to work closely with our clients and provide them with a holistic and unique perspective on their exposures, offering guidance and advice on loss prevention and control issues.”
