Liberty Specialty Markets, a division of Liberty Mutual Insurance, has announced plans to grow the size of its French team and broaden the range of product lines underwritten by the unit, as well as plans to make a number of investments in its French business.

Liberty Specialty Market’s Head of Continental Europe, Kadidja Sinz, explained the plans while speaking at the AMRAE risk managers conference held in Marseille, France.

Sinz announced that the firm will introduce surety, fine art and specie, contingent risk and terrorism lines of business, all to be launched in the first-quarter of 2018.

The surety solution will focus on major French exporters and construction firms, and the fine art and specie product will include protection for museums and shows, as well as private collectors.

Furthermore, ten new roles are also being created at the unit during 2018, and Liberty Specialty Markets will also invest in commercial relationship management systems, and also web-based technical underwriting tools.
