Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM) has appointed Bas Wijnhoven to the new role of Senior Underwriter to lead the Directors & Officers (D&O) and Crime segment for the Netherlands.
Based in The Hague, he will report to Jona Alblas, Manager of the D&O/FI department.
Wijnhoven will lead the development of the commercial D&O and commercial crime portfolio along with selected brokers who partner with LSM, a division of Liberty Mutual Insurance.
Kadidja Sinz, LSM’s Head of Europe, said the role was newly created “as a result of our commitment to delivering our specialty expertise and experience across Europe generally, and specifically into the Dutch market.
“With corporate boards facing increasing – often competing – demands from investors, regulators and other stakeholders, the need for insightful and disciplined financial lines underwriting is vital for our clients and broker partners. Bas’ local knowledge and technical expertise will help us achieve just that.”
Wijnhoven began his insurance career in 1998 with Zurich, underwriting a variety of classes of business. He moved to Bloemers Nassau Groep in 2003, followed by Chubb in 2005.
