Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has announced the appointment of Ed Louth as Head of Aviation.
Louth succeeds Miles Taffs, who was named Interim Head of Aviation in September 2025 after joining LSM as Senior Underwriting Specialist, Aviation, in March 2025. Taffs will return to his former role while supporting the aviation team and ensuring a smooth transition. He will continue to underwrite and manage key account and market relationships until his retirement on 1st October 2026.
In his new role, Louth will have overall responsibility for underwriting strategy and performance. He will be based in London and report to Meghan Walker, Divisional Director, Marine & Aviation.
He brings more than 25 years of London market experience, joining LSM from WTW, where he worked since 2020, most recently serving as Head of Broking, Global Aviation & Space.
