Liberty Specialty Markets, the commercial and specialty insurance division of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has announced the appointment of Monique Kooijman as General Manager for the Netherlands, Belgium and the Nordics, subject to regulatory approval.
Kooijman will be based in the Netherlands and will report to Pierre-Edouard Fraigneau, President of Liberty Europe.
She joins the business from Everest, where she held the position of Head of Northern Europe. During her time there, she contributed to regional expansion efforts and worked closely with brokers to strengthen strategic market relationships.
Kooijman brings more than three decades of international insurance experience to the role, having held senior leadership positions at both Chubb and CNA Hardy.
Liberty Specialty Markets noted that, while at CNA Hardy, Kooijman served as Regional Director with oversight of the Benelux countries, Germany and the Nordics. Prior to that, she spent 25 years at Chubb in a variety of senior management positions spanning claims, underwriting and country leadership.
