The Lloyd’s Market Association (LMA) has appointed Tony Rai as Chair and Hannah Purves as Deputy Chair of the LMA Claims Committee (LMACC), each will serve two year terms with effect from 31 January 2018.
Rai, the current Head of London Market Claims for Hiscox is set to replace outgoing chair, Anthony Hobkinson; Purves is Claims Director at Markel.
Lee Elliston, Claims Director, LMA said; “I am pleased to announce that Tony Rai and Hannah Purves will take up the roles of Chair and Deputy Chair respectively.
“Their combined knowledge, experience, claims vision and leadership qualities will be an invaluable asset to the LMA as it continues to advance a number of initiatives for the benefit of the market. I would also like to thank Anthony Hobkinson, the outgoing LMACC chair, for his leadership over the term.”
In addition, the LMA announced the reelection of Neil Dalton (Ascot), Scott Kellers (Liberty), Charles Glaisher (Faraday) and Richard Foulger (Aegis) as members of the LMACC.
The LMACC provides leadership and direction to the Lloyd’s claims community and advises the LMA Board on strategic claims matters.
LMACC said its priorities for 2018 include “ensuring that claims takes a more prominent role within the market’s modernisation programme; continuing to work with Lloyd’s, the IUA and LIIBA on delivering and embedding the Single Claims Agreement Party model within the London market, and working with the market to assess the potential benefits of delivering shared services and new technologies throughout claims (including DA); and focus on talent and development to support existing and new claims professionals.”
