Lloyd’s promotes Emma Loynes to CEO of APMEA

Emma Loynes has been promoted to the role of Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Asia-Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) at the specialist Lloyd’s insurance and reinsurance marketplace, succeeding Chris Mackinnon.

emma-loynes-lloyds-logoLoynes joined Lloyd’s, the world’s oldest re/insurance market, in 2018 as Senior Manager Market Oversight and Delivery, taking on the role of Head of Market Development Transformation in 2021. In 2023, she was appointed CEO Lloyd’s Asia and Country Manager Singapore, and retains her role as Country Manager for Singapore alongside her new position as CEO of APMEA.

Prior to Lloyd’s, she spent more than 22 years with RSA in a variety leadership roles, latterly as UK Regions Operations Director, RSA Commercial.

Lloyd’s Chief Commercial Officer and CEO of Lloyd’s Americas, Dawn Miller, said: “I am pleased to confirm Emma Loynes has been appointed CEO of Lloyd’s APMEA, succeeding Chris Mackinnon in leading the region. Emma brings significant experience and capability, and I am confident the region will continue to thrive under her leadership.

“Emma will retain her role as Lloyd’s Country Manager for Singapore. I would like to extend my thanks to Chris for his leadership and expertise over the last decade and wish him well for his next chapter.”

Additionally, Lloyd’s has confirmed that Scott Galloway has stepped down as Lloyd’s General Representative in New Zealand after 25 years with the marketplace. During his tenure, Galloway successfully guided Lloyd’s through periods of significant regulatory change, and supported the growth of its business in New Zealand.

He will continue to provide his expertise as a member of the Lloyd’s Australia board and as Chair of the NZ Sub Committee.

Effective January 1st, 2026, Simon Wilson assumed the role of Lloyd’s General Representative in New Zealand. He’s worked for Lloyd’s in the Regulatory Affairs team and Performance Management Directorate in London from 2014 to 2021, and supported the APMEA region on a number of key strategic projects over 2025, explains Lloyd’s.

Previously, Wilson spent more than a year with Farmers Mutual Group as Regulatory Affairs Manager, and more than two years with The Hollard Insurance Company Australia, as Country Manager, Head of Hollard NZ.

“Scott’s contribution has been extraordinary. He’s guided Lloyd’s through periods of significant regulatory change and built strong relationships with key regional stakeholders including RBNZ, FMA, MBIE and ICNZ. Scott’s leadership and commitment have left a lasting mark, and we have truly valued having Scott as part of the team. I thank Scott for his outstanding service and welcome Simon to this important role,” said Tracey Bryan, Lloyd’s Regional Manager for Australia and New Zealand.
