Lloyd’s of London has announced alterations to the opening hours of its underwriting room, in response to recent lockdown measures introduced by the UK government.

john-neal-lloyds-ceoThis announcement comes as businesses across the country are being urged to work from home if possible.

Between November 5 and December 2, the space will remain closed every day except Wednesdays, when it will be open for full classes.

Lloyd’s cited the need to provide access to the market in the run-up to 1/1 renewals as crucial, and has highlighted steps taken to operate as a COVID-secure working environment.

Despite Lloyd’s proactiveness in maximising the safety of its work environment, and the unparalleled pressure COVID continues to pile on businesses, the decision to remain partially open could be seen as an added risk to its employees.

Brokers and underwriters will be able to connect to those outside of Lloyd’s via the Digital Booths in the coffee house.
