Re/insurance broker Lockton has announced the appointment of Richard Barraclough to the position of Head of Corporate at its Manchester office as it looks to grow its presence in the North England.
Barraclough joins Lockton from AJ Gallagher in Yorkshire, where he most recently led its Leeds, Sheffield and Wakefield offices as Regional Managing Director.
He has more than 30 years’ experience in the corporate insurance broking space, and has previously led client service teams for Willis Towers Watson and Oval Insurance Brokers.
In his new role, Barraclough will form part of Lockton’s new North Leadership Group, which will be led by Matt Davies, Head of Risk Solutions North for Lockton.
The team has been formed to improve the growth rate and quality of the broker’s regional service teams.
It will also include David Lee, Head of UK Regional Wholesale, Michael Farrell, Head of the Newcastle regional office and Mike Kay, Senior Vice President.
Lockton’s northern clients predominantly operate across retail, transportation and distribution, real estate and food and beverage sectors.
Over the next two years, however, the company hopes to span corporate clients, real estate, wholesale, transactional risks and due diligence consulting.
