Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Jesse van Cleef to the newly created role of Head of MBTC Europe, Financial Risk Solutions (FRS).
Based in the Netherlands, Van Cleef will report to Alexandra Paton, Head of Continental Europe – FRS.
As FRS is launching Multi Buyer Trade Credit (MBTC) in the European and London markets, van Cleef will be responsible for leading the development of this new product in these markets. LSM has been writing MBTC in North America since 2019.
According to the announcement, Van Cleef’s hire means LSM now has a dedicated underwriter in the region who can extend MBTC’s successful growth and support LSM’s desire to expand its geographic footprint.
He is bringing to his new position more than 20 years of experience gained in financial services and insurance companies.
Prior to joining LSM, Van Cleef served at Atradious, where he held several roles since he started in 2006, the most recent being Regional Director of Special Products.
Commenting on Van Cleef’s appointment, Paton said: “We created this new role as part of our growth strategy for this product. Jesse’s experience and knowledge will be invaluable in supporting us to grow our portfolio. Jesse’s industry experience and strong relationships make him the perfect leader to drive this stage of our development.”
