Liberty Specialty Markets (LSM), part of Liberty Mutual Insurance Group, has appointed Paul Beattie as Global Head of War and Terrorism within its London Specialty Business.
Beattie is based in London and takes up the role with immediate effect, whilst continuing with his existing role, Head of Underwriting, Marine Niche Products.
This additional role makes him responsible for the growth of the business by differentiating LSM’s offering for the benefit of its brokers and clients.
He will continue to report to Mike Burle who held the role previously, and has recently been appointed Deputy Active Underwriter in addition to his role of Head of Marine Division.
Beattie joined LSM in October 2012 as Underwriting Manager, and holds 20 years of experience underwriting War and Terrorism risks.

“Paul has been instrumental in building the war and terrorism portfolio into one of the most valuable in the global marketplace.
“His knowledge, experience and profile in the market are ideal to lead our global proposition going forward.”
