American International Group, Inc. (AIG) has announced the appointment of Mark D. Lyons as Senior Vice President (SVP) & Chief Actuary, General Insurance, effective June 1st, 2018.
Lyons is rejoining the firm from Arch Capital Group, where he was Executive Vice President (EVP), Chief Financial Officer (CFO), and Treasurer since 2012.
In his new role he will be tasked with leading AIG’s General Insurance global actuarial organisation, and will report to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of General Insurance, Peter Zaffino.
This role will also see Lyons serve as a member of the General Insurance executive leadership team, where he will oversee actuarial strategy and provide input into important General Insurance strategies, alongside pricing and reserving practices.
