VHV Group, Germany’s leading insurance group, has appointed Mahir Çipil, an experienced veteran across the industry, to the position of Deputy General Manager (COO) of VHV Reasürans, VHV Groups Turkish reinsurance subsidiary.
In his new role, Çipil will lead the marketing, technology, operations and legal processes of the firm.
It has also been revealed that the newly appointed COO will also serve on the Board of Directors.
Previously, Çipil served as the Founding Vice President during the establishment processes of the Insurance and Private Pensions Regulation and Supervision Agency (SEDDK) between 2020-2021.
He would then later go on to serve as the Assistant General Manager & Executive Board Member in charge of sales and marketing at Bupa Acıbadem Sigorta.
In his most recent role, Çipil served as the CEO and co-founder of an insurtech startup.
Regarding the appointment, VHV Sigorta Chairman of the Board of Directors and VHV Reinsurance CEO Maximilian Stahl said: “As the VHV team, we continue to grow in Turkey without slowing down.
