Robert Maloney has joined Emerald Bay Risk Solutions, a specialty insurance firm, as Senior Vice President, Head of Ceded Re.
Created as a “Collaborative Underwriting Carrier,” Emerald Bay Risk Solutions was launched in 2024 by co-founders Dave Ingrey and Miles Allkins, with Bain Capital backing.
It leverages data-driven technology and underwriting expertise to align interests across the risk value chain.
This allows the firm to deliver tailored Excess & Surplus (E&S) market solutions through partners, such as managing general agents (MGAs).
Emerald Bay aims for disciplined growth, robust capital protection, and the establishment of long-term partnerships. They provide both admitted and non-admitted coverage and maintain a strong financial position, supported by an A- (Excellent) rating from AM Best.
Maloney is joining the company following a 6-year tenure at MS Transverse Insurance Group, where he most recently served as Vice President (VP), Reinsurance.
During his time at MS Transverse, the executive held a number of positions, including VP, Reinsurance and Underwriting and Underwriting Specialist.
Prior to this he was a Senior Underwriter at Spanish firm MAPRE RE, and previously spent two decades working at Munich Reinsurance America, Inc.
