24th February 2023 - Author: Kane Wells

MAPFRE and Bupa have joined forces to offer international health insurance in Latin America, first in Peru, then in Uruguay and Paraguay, with joint opportunities in other neighbouring countries also being studied.

The agreement is set to last for a decade and will automatically extend for an additional five years thereafter.

The two firms suggest that this is proof of their dedication to creating a long-lasting relationship.

The partnership will allow MAPFRE and Bupa clients access to quality healthcare products and services, which will begin to be marketed in March.

Further, as part of the global offering, policyholders will be able to make use of the extensive medical provider network through Bupa, which currently serves more than 40 million customers worldwide.

Iñaki Peralta, CEO of Bupa Europe and Latin America added, “Together with MAPFRE, we are launching our offer in Peru, then Paraguay and Uruguay, but we hope to expand it to other countries in the region as well to provide clients with international healthcare solutions designed to meet their healthcare needs as citizens of the world.

“As Bupa does around the world, we are always working to form strong alliances, advance the growth of our markets and better serve our customers.”
