Industry veteran Daniel P. Olohan has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer (COO) of MAPFRE USA, effective August 1, 2024.
Olohan has been with the firm since 2006, and has served as General Counsel and Secretary since 2008.
As well as taking on this new role, Olohan will also join the Board of Directors of MAPFRE USA too.
“Dan brings strong leadership and a deep understanding of MAPFRE USA’s business and the industry to this position. Having overseen our legal and regulatory affairs for many years, he is uniquely qualified and well-positioned to drive our operational strategy forward and ensure continued efficiency and excellence across the organization,” commented MAPFRE USA President and CEO Jaime Tamayo.
At the same time, Jose Manuel Corral, who currently serves as COO of MAPFRE USA since his appointment in 2021, has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of MAPFRE VIDA and General Manager of the Bancassurance Channel of MAPFRE ESPAÑA by MAPFRE SA, also effective August 1, 2024.
Corral, who has been with the organisation for over 30 years in different capacities, will join the Board of Directors of MAPFRE ESPAÑA.

He has shown strong commitment to MAPFRE in the U.S. and has been a valued contributor to the organization in the last few years. We wish him the best in his new position,” added Tamayo.
