Active Re, a provider of reinsurance solutions for financial institutions, has announced the appointment of Marco Nicolini as Head of Global Treaty Business Underwriting.
He will join the Treaty Underwriting team on January 3, and will report directly to Active Re’s Chief Executive Officer, Ramon Martinez Carrera.
In his new role, Nicolini will lead Active Re´s Treaty portfolio development in addition to overseeing the management and strategy of various product lines of business.
He has over two decades of experience in the reinsurance market, with his most recent position being that as the head of the Latin America Unit for the SiriusPoint Group, a role he held for almost 13 years.
Prior to that, he was Managing Director for Ultimate Risk Solutions, a global provider of Dynamic Financial Analysis (DFA) software for the insurance and reinsurance industry. Throughout his career he has also worked at IPC RE, Arch Reinsurance, PXRE and F&G Re.
“Marco’ s background and knowledge will further enhance and strengthen our global team, especially in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as further develop and execute the strategic and marketing objectives,” said Active Re.
