Maria Morzello has been promoted to the role of Chief Risk Officer (CRO), Bermuda & North America at AXA XL Reinsurance.
Based in Stamford, Connecticut, she takes on this new role after spending over two years serving as a Senior Risk Manager.
An experienced veteran across the industry, Morzello brings over two decades of expertise towards her new role.
She started out her career in 2001 working within the Treasury department at financial department Morgan Stanley.
After spending over four years at the firm, Morzello went on to work at XL Catlin for 10 years. During her time at the company, she held the role of Senior Capital Modeling Analyst, Enterprise Risk Management for over eight years, and then Head of Capital Model Regional Reporting, Enterprise Risk Management for over one year.
In addition, Morzello also previously served as Senior Capital & Liquidity Manager, Americas at Swiss Re Corporate Solutions.
AXA XL Re recently appointed Renaud Guidée as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO), succeeding Nancy Bewlay.
Effective September 1st, 2023, he is set to take over as CEO of AXA XL Re, which, with a global footprint and a strong balance sheet offers solutions that include property, casualty, and specialty reinsurance.
