Michelle Sipple has joined global insurer Markel’s Property and Marine product leadership team as Managing Director, Inland Marine.
Sipple brings more than three decades of inland marine and builders risk underwriting experience to Markel, and will lead the company’s inland marine strategy.
“We’re thrilled to have her on board!” said Markel.
She joins Markel after three years with Crum & Forster, where she served as Senior Vice President (SVP), Inland Marine. Before this, Sipple spent more than three years with Bermuda-based re/insurer Everest as Head of Inland Marine and Construction, Everest Insurance.
Earlier in her career, Sipple worked at Lexington Insurance Company, part of AIG, for six years as SVP, Portfolio Execution, E&S Property, Global Head of Inland Marine. Before this, she served at ACE Westchester for five years as Regional Vice President Ocean and Inland Marine.
Sipple also worked at Firemans Fund Insurance Company for two years as Regional Underwriting Director, Inland, Ocean Marine and Property. Her career in the industry started in 1998 with Chubb, where Sipple spent 15 years, latterly as Assistant Vice President.
