Markel Insurance, the insurance operations within Markel Group Inc., has appointed Ravi Jain as Business Development and Distribution Lead for India, based in Mumbai, effective immediately.
This appointment aligns with Markel’s broader commitment to invest in India and build strong local partnerships through market expertise.
In his new role, Jain will report to Deepika Mathur, Managing Director, Markel India, and partner with brokers and other distribution stakeholders to drive new commercial opportunities to expand the insurer’s regional presence.
Additionally, he will also help shape Markel’s broader international distribution strategy by leveraging his broker network and market knowledge to enhance client service.
Jain has over 18 years of experience in India’s insurance and broking sector. In the past, he held several roles across sales, underwriting, and reinsurance in several organisations, including HDFC ERGO and IndusInd General Insurance.
