Global insurance and reinsurance broking group Marsh McLennan has appointed David Liston as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), US and Canada, effective immediately.
He will have a dual line of reporting to Pat Tomlinson, Chief Executive Officer, Marsh McLennan US and Canada and President of Mercer, and Hans van Heukelum, Global CCO, Marsh McLennan. He will continue to be based in New York.

His appointment follows the transition of Susan Potter to the role of President, Mercer US and Canada earlier this year.
In this new role, Liston will collaborate with Marsh, Mercer, Guy Carpenter, and Oliver Wyman leaders to foster collaboration and innovation at the intersection of the businesses, maximize client impact, and enhance business growth in the US and Canada.
Liston is a market veteran with a career spanning over three decades. He has previously served as Corporate Segment Leader, Marsh US and Canada and recently had an expanded role across Marsh and Mercer, driving mid-market offerings for the region.
Liston has held various client-facing and leadership roles at Marsh. He also previously served as the US Sales and Marketing Leader, and before that was responsible for the New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut region.
His extensive experience includes serving as the New York Office Head and the Seattle Office Head for Marsh. He spent a decade in Florida, specializing in production and client executive roles.
