Swiss Re has appointed Martin Zingg, currently Group Head Corporate Developments & Strategic Investments, as Head of its Alternative Capital Partners (ACP) division, succeeding Chris Minter, who has decided to retire after nearly 13 years with the firm.

swiss-re-logoAccording to Swiss Re, Zingg will lead ACP in addition to his current responsibilities, reportedly reflecting growing integration between corporate development and alternative capital.

Zingg will continue to be based in New York, and his new title will be Group Head Corporate Development and Capital Markets. The change is effective from Wednesday, 1 July 2026.

Zingg holds more than three decades of global experience across insurance asset management, corporate development and capital markets.

Swiss Re described him as having a strong track record in managing asset portfolios and leading complex financial transactions, including partnerships, alternative capital structures, and acquisitions.

Outgoing Chris Minter has led ACP and overseen key initiatives, including the consolidation of third-party investment management activities under a single regulated entity and the integration of co-investment management for GAM’s ILS funds since September 2024.

Swiss Re noted that during Minter’s tenure, ILS AUM grew from approximately $5 billion to $7.6 billion, and Swiss Re Capital Markets arranged 26 ILS transactions with a notional value of $7.4 billion.

Before joining the reinsurer in 2013, Minter was at Deutsche Bank for over 10 years, operating in senior roles such as Global Head and CEO of DB Private Equity.
