W. R. Berkley Corporation has announced the appointment of Maureen Hackett as President of Berkley Luxury Group, its division focused on upscale residential condo, co-op and rental properties and fine dining restaurants.
She takes over the role from William Johnston, who has been appointed as Chairman of Berkley Luxury Group.
Hackett most recently served as Head of Global Personal Lines at AIG, and has more than 30 years’ experience in the property and casualty market.
Johnston, meanwhile, joined Berkley Luxury Group as President in 2007.
He will continue to support Hackett and the Berkley Luxury Group team throughout the transition, and will be involved in other Berkley initiatives and activities over time.
